Aspired by the government’s vision towards Industry 4.0, KISMEC has took the initiative to materialise the national vision of INDUSTRY4WRD by identifying the strategic partners to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution. With this in mind, SIRIM Berhad and Kedah Industrial Skills and Management Development Centre (KISMEC) will collaborate in the areas of Industry 4.0 (I4.0): Smart Manufacturing and Competency Development Program that will focus on competency and training, through an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

She said that MIMOS was aware of the growing demand for competent industry talent in the various areas of Industry 4.0. “The MIMOS-KISMEC collaboration will bode well for the country’s digital transformation and drive forward into the industrial revolution,” she added.

To reinforce KISMEC’s dynamic partnership and collaboration for Industry 4.0, CyberSecurity Malaysia recognized the necessity to establish and strengthen cooperative efforts related to cybersecurity training and services since 2012. This MOU further strengthens the bond between CyberSecurity Malaysia and KISMEC to upskill KISMEC students and staff through awareness and training programs. We encourage KISMEC to jointly promote and participate in its professional certification program, Global ACE Scheme (GAS).” said Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab, Chief Executive Officer, CyberSecurity Malaysia.

According to Dato’ Dr. Amirudin, GAS is a large-scale systematic plan of actions to certify and recognize cybersecurity workforce. It is industry driven and vendor-neutral, developed in collaboration with government agencies, industry partners and academia. This scheme aimed at enhancing the skill-sets of cybersecurity workforce congruent with local and international requirements. Global ACE Scheme Recognition Arrangement permits mutual recognition of certified cybersecurity workforce across the boundaries alongside creating value for cybersecurity industry.
